girl in print (2018)
director / producer / editor / camera
girl in print is a satirical retrospective criticism of the role traditionally cast for women in North American print advertising during the 1960s and 1970s through a future-leaning lens. In an effort to illustrate the commodification of women and reinstated stereotypes, girl in print brings these elements of advertising into a modern context through a moving print ad.
Featuring a performance by artist and choreographer Tavia Christina, this video installation was developed for Is Nothing Sacred? - an installation-based group show exploring the parts of us that cannot be replicated, packaged, or sold, curated by Jessica D'Angelo and Kathleen Barrett.
